Last week I swore that it would be the last day I would put my long stilts in a miserable pantyhose. I have been looking forward to that moment for months. And it’s as if they listened up there, because voilà, here it finally is. After a long wait: the very first official skirt day of the year, today, April 7th. At least, mine, huh. Because about six weeks ago (remember those Siberian scenes?) Kiek already appeared with her always tanned legs completely in a swirly skirt at the editorial office.

Respect with a capital R, you know. But well, after my promise, I had a nice bit of time to prepare my stilts for this momentous day. Spray tan, last check with the Lumea, another layer of Marc Inbane… And uh, you understand that I immediately took advantage of this momentous occasion to make a new purchase. And okay, my catch may require a higher mercury level and slightly stronger sun rays, but that doesn’t matter at all. Because that tropical situation will occur faster than you think. Did I already tell you that in two weeks I will be plopping down in Greek sand with nine other Amayzers with bare bottoms? I’m saying. That situation also calls for it, of course. Anyway, my new handsome specimen comes from the Marant house. I shopped it during a weekend in Maastricht at my favorite store AIM. Costs a bit, but then you also get something. Because actually, my latest acquisition can just go on top of the pile. When I officially declare the last skirt day of the year, this nice piece of fabric can just go into winter. Pantyhose underneath, thick sweater over it, and the best little skirt will also survive that Siberian cold.
