So you want to go alone on a trip. You're right. It's something you should at least do once. Step completely out of your comfort zone, get to know yourself, make your own choices, take your own paths, and suddenly oh help the feeling overwhelms you. How do you actually approach it? And especially: where the heck are you going?
Also important: have you even thought about the fact that not every country is equally relaxed for going on vacation alone? The Institute for Economics and Peace publishes a list every year that maps the safest and most dangerous countries. Look, a little bit of daring is fine, but it's important to check if your dream destination is safe at the moment. This year, 163 countries were compared based on 23 different criteria. Think of: internal conflicts and/or conflicts with other countries, the level of safety in the country, and the level of militarization.
