It's date night
When I was pregnant with Otis, Jon and I immediately agreed that as parents we would schedule a date night once a week. The little man is now fifteen months old and we're doing quite well: on average, we go out together two evenings a month. When this invite came in, it was immediately claimed as the date night of this month. Restaurant Taiko in the Conservatorium Hotel always presents the new menu for the upcoming year in September, and this time the versatility of soy takes center stage. What's really cool is that the first soy sauce brewed in Europe is mostly used in the dishes and it comes from Rotterdam. I can already reveal: the whole evening you'll be surprised by little flavor explosions. Tip for all the parents out there: this is the absolute tip for your date night, perhaps even for the coming year.
Every time H&M announces a new collaboration, I'm curious who it is this time. This collaboration goes back years, but I hope it will continue for many more years. The WNF is once again joining forces with a fantastic animal collection made from sustainable materials, so that everyone around the world is inspired to take better care of our planet. Starting tomorrow, the collection will be available and I have my eye on the tiger sweater for Otis. Love it when fashion and charity come together!
It feels like yesterday when Marly sent me a little photo of the newborn Sammy-Rose. My goddaughter is celebrating her fourth birthday this week and a new era has begun: that of primary school. Of course, this had to be celebrated grandly and suddenly I saw how big she has grown... I know this sounds like a terrible cliché, but it's really true: enjoy them while they're so small, because before you know it, they won't want to cuddle and sit on your lap anymore. I cuddle Otis a little extra every day; luckily we still have a few years to go before his school period starts!
As soon as Hanna Verboom starts something new, I'm immediately triggered. You can bet it's a brilliant concept and thought out to the last detail. The Get It Done Foundation is a beautiful platform that raises money for specific projects and keeps you fully informed of developments. Or Cinetree, the film club where well-known names from the cultural sector make their selection from the vast array of films and documentaries with a good story. Hanna's latest launch is the new lifestyle brand Palais: a beautiful luxury lifestyle brand that produces entirely sustainably. Often, sustainability has a dusty edge, but with this, the creators show that sustainability can definitely be linked to luxury. The collection currently consists solely of cushions, but in time I hope to style our entire house with Palais.
