This Amsterdam house is so cool that May even wants to leave Haarlem

Do you know that one from May-Britt Mobach who wrote that it's a lot better to be in Haarlem with three kids than in Amsterdam? Ha. Well, she got this Funda link sent to her like a boomerang and had to reconsider her thoughts for a moment.

I present to you the house of Marieke Meulendijk, one of the great minds behind Scotch & Soda and now founder and designer of Les Coyotes de Paris, one of the coolest Dutch brands I know. Marieke kept a few coins from the sale of Scotch and invested it as it should be in bricks. But now it's for sale and I'm restless.

Just a few highlights. Five hundred square meters of living space. A quiet city garden. A roof terrace of sixty square meters. A Boffi kitchen. A marble hallway. A steel-framed window section around the central staircase. Six bedrooms. Four bathrooms. Two offices. A hop away from the Bijenkorf and the tram stop where all the important trams stop.

I haven't even mentioned the interior. Marieke, girl, you can leave everything as it is.

Two downsides. My peak pipe (remember, from the ’80s?) is just not full enough to scrape together the requested 3.4 million and downside two: you really have to search well and walk far before you encounter the first blade of grass. So for the happiness of the dog, kids, and bank account, I'll stay put in Haarlem for a while. But Tess, maybe something for you?
