Just be happy with that bad weather: you have less stress

Cursing and raging that you have to go out the door again in a slobby and leaking raincoat? Can you cry at the thought that both the autumn and winter still have to officially start? And that the next spring only begins on March 21, 2019?

Don't worry. You might as well just be happy with that bad weather. And be happy with the icy, snowy, shivering icicle-winter that is still ahead. Because, as research shows, we have more stress than in winter. Much more.

That's the deal. That constant pressure that we must have a particularly fun life and do something social every day ‘because the weather is nice now’, that gets to us. That rainy autumn weather is actually a sign of: ‘hey, you don't have to do anything for a while’. ‘Just lie down on the couch with that blanket after a long workday’. ‘Enjoy that book and skip that dinner; it's raining way too hard to bike there for fun’.

Moreover, you also eat better in those colder months and sleep better. This is because in summer you quickly flop down everywhere on a terrace and in winter you take the time to cook a pot of vegetables. Because it gets dark longer and also gets dark faster, you sleep more and often also deeper. That's good for your mood.
