Lynn's December month in euros
Scrolling through my Rabo banking activities feels a bit like looking back at your Snapchat story after a wild night out. Piece 1 and 2 leading to a current total of €375 euros and 55 cents. Food, gifts, and the Dutch Railways are clearly my biggest expenses. This time a double update. Hey ho let’s go, these were the past two December weeks in euros.
Saturday, December 15:
- Costs of the surprise evening on Friday: €21.25.
- Transfer for the NYE house party ticket: €40.
Sunday, December 16:
It had snowed, so the train from Eindhoven to Amsterdam slipped towards Rotterdam. There we got stuck and I, to make matters worse, ate a BLT sandwich that had been too close to the cooling element of the fridge.
Train: €14,-.
Frozen sandwich: €4,60,-.
Memorable Monday, December 17:
Since I can't go anywhere at the office, I also spend much less on these days.
The basic program lasts 30 days and costs about €0.
Tuesday, December 18:
- Invited with mom to the Scapino Ballet in Den Bosch.
- And since I'm almost always in a hurry, I ran again this time with a pulled beef flatbread from the station to the theater.
Train: €9,-.
Flatbread: €5,50.
Wednesday, December 19:
- Fruitlessly searched for a Christmas outfit for the Amayzine Christmas dinner
- Family bag of fries, chicken corn, cheese soufflé, two portions of bitterballen, a croquette, and a large bowl of Joppiesaus. That will be €20.05.
Parking costs: €5,60.
Thursday, December 20:
From Eindhoven to Amsterdam to shoot with Lauren.
Train and bus: €14 euros
Tuna sandwich, iced tea, spa red at Bar Lempicka: €11,50.
Friday, December 21:
All ready for the Amayzine Christmas dinner.
Uber to the office: €5,50.
Nasal spray (still life necessity number 1): €2,95.
Saturday, December 22:
- My dear colleague saved me from a clothing crisis the size of Russia. I fell in love with the black lace skirt she gave me and bought it: €25.
- With a heavy head back to Eindhoven: €14.
- Ten minutes transfer time from train to bus means a small coffee from Coffee Fellows: €2.70.
Sunday, December 23:
Watched TV. Literally the whole day.
The basic program lasts 30 days and costs about €0.
Monday, December 24:
‘Trinkets evening’ with our family. Instead of buying yet another gift that will never be used, I choose an activity.
4 tickets for Nik West in Paradiso: €90,80.
Tuesday, December 25:
- Christmas dinner 1 is over and we dive into the local pub, because Christmas calls for a good dose of Bishop's wine.
- Bishop's wine turned into vodka cassis x 5 (or 6). I can't remember anymore: €24.
Wednesday, December 26 including a pounding head that comes free with it:
Christmas dinner number 2. Then traditionally with my shepherds to a party in Eindhoven.
Taxi: €10 euros
4 x glasses of nasty wine: €20,-.
3 x shots that can't stand daylight: €12,-.
Thursday, December 27:
- I've eaten enough for the past year: €0
- The gifts have also been given: €0
- I don't want to think about taking a train now: €0
Friday, December 28:
- The fact that I have recovered again is evident from the upcoming croquette craving.
- Unlimited croquettes: €15,-.
- As the last person in the Netherlands to see the movie ‘A Star is Born’: €11,-.
These two weeks amounted to: €378.45 euros. So, Lynn's December month costs a total of €754,-. On one hand, I'm a bit in shock and on the other hand, it's worth every euro.
