Mei's Londen Dagboek

I'm coming along on one condition: Daantje has to come too. I was invited by Park Plaza Hotels to spend two days in London. And what's not to love about London? Sharing a room, a bit of partying, shopping, and oh yes, luckily there were also two museum visits planned to somewhat elevate the cultural level.

So here we are. London City awakens. From our executive room (very nice, clean, soundproof) we have an insane view of the city. Window from floor to ceiling, champagne in the cooler, a handwritten note from the manager, and fresh cookies; this hotel is highly recommended. It looks clean and businesslike, but children are particularly welcome here. There is a 15-meter long swimming pool; a rarity right in the city. For us, there is an amazing spa. I will be back, in short.

We let our step counter work at the Tate Modern where we went to the Shape of Light exhibition. Afterwards, I had to practice controlled breathing in the museum shop (because too many fun little books and a piece of hand luggage are not a match) and we hopped into such a lovely taxi towards Bob Bob Ricard. I can say a lot about it, but if there’s a press for champagne button at your table, I don’t need to say anything more about the truffle fries, the butter from Guernsey, and the stuffed tomato with quinoa. Even the term divine doesn’t do it justice.

And let’s just say that Bob Bob Ricard happens to be on the same street as Le Labo, Rag & Bone (hoiiii new jeans that I’ve been looking for so long) and just around the corner from the flagship store of Jo Malone. And let’s just say we also got a hand and arm massage there. And now I’m in love with the Sweet Lemon and Ginger Biscuit scent from Jo Malone. But you can only buy that in London. So I have to go back. You get it.
