Nicolette bites back after Robinson criticism
I can't not write about it. There's a little scandal going on. And I'm updating you on everything related to Robinson, so this too. It all started with the deliberate departure Dennis Weening, then Art Rooijakkers became the fool, then the angry looks turned to RTL and now even Nicolette Kluijver is in trouble. What happened? Last week, Nicolette was the target of criticism after she allegedly reacted ‘cowardly’ to the departure of Robinson colleague Dennis Weening, according to René van der Gijp.
Nicolette wisely kept her mouth shut about the incident, but she does respond with a subtle statement on her Instagram. ‘Life is too short to waste time hating’ she writes with a photo where the scar from her battle with lung cancer is clearly visible, followed by the hashtags #so much bullshit #sourpusses #enjoylife #positivevibes and #loveeachother.
“I'm going to miss Dennis terribly, but he is my friend, so we will stay in touch. It's just not fun,” Nicolette said earlier in the broadcast at RTL Boulevard. This ‘prepared speech’ rubbed René the wrong way, causing him to make another comment about it on Voetbal Inside. “Just say what happened, say what you think about it, say whether it's RTL's or Dennis’ fault. But just say what you know man, don't be so weird. What is this about? It’s about nothing at all. And then that bitch is over there giggling. Then I think: ‘Come on man, you're an adult.’”
I can often laugh a lot at René (and his infectious laugh), but on days like this, I find him a jerk. It probably isn't that easy. Someone is never ‘just’ fired. There will be a reason we don't know. Or a sum of multiple reasons. And what do you expect from Nicolette? That she speaks critically about her employer, with whom she is still continuing, in the media? Don’t think so. There will surely have been enough uncomfortable conversations about this decision. Dennis also stands up for Nicolette: “I really think it's very bad. Nicolette is anything but a bitch. She was really caught between two fires, she absolutely did her best to defend me as well as she could. (…) I love her.”
Oh boys boys boys, what a fuss it all is. Just quickly announce that it Art is going to happen, then the sting will really be out of it in a while, trust me. And René, rinse your mouth. Tsss. Oh and Dennis, I still love you. It's incredibly sour and shitty, but it will be okay, really. Although I understand that you will probably skip that vacation to the Philippines in the coming years…
