People who laugh a lot with colleagues are hard workers
It's always a bit of a mixed bag, working between Christmas and New Year's. Those gemütliche days. The atmosphere is always good in the office around this time of year. Different from usual. Everyone is a bit in a Christmas dinner mood and a festive spirit.
For those who just obediently go to work around the holidays: make sure to have a lot of fun with your colleagues. We spend a relatively large part of the day here laughing. Silly jokes, the same old jokes about clothes, hairstyles, mandarins, life, oh well. It certainly doesn't hurt, as research shows. Because it's precisely the colleagues who laugh a lot with each other who work extra hard. Those jokers are actually productive.
Here's the thing. People who have a lot of fun at their desks apparently have a really nice job, where they can be themselves, and where they have good contact with colleagues. This makes you extra motivated to do your work well, because you don't want to think about having to look for another job. Because then you lose that nice team around you. So you work your butt off. Completely. You always finish everything on time and are happy to go the extra mile for your boss. And joke and chat and mess around in between. Double win therefore.
In short: do you also notice that you laugh a lot, turn purple, and snort during office hours? Cherish that job, be kind to all those colleagues, and keep doing your best. Everything will be just fine with that career and that feeling of happiness in 2019.
