Research proves: we should sleep twice a day

If you are yawning behind your laptop and you can't see life anymore because your workday still lasts 5.5 hours – you might as well take a nap.

Because it's not strange at all that we humans sometimes complain about that early alarm clock or an after-lunch dip or a heavy four o'clock moment. Research shows that it's actually best for people to sleep twice a day. Ha.

A short extra nap right in the middle of the day is good for your brain. You can recharge quite a bit in a 20-minute nap and then have fresh energy again. Around two o'clock would be the best time to briefly close your eyes. After that, you work more productively and therefore better. Sounds like music to the ears, doesn't it? Sleeping and being better at your job.

Moreover, the chance of depression or burnout decreases if you take some extra sleep between nights. Because we all know: not getting enough sleep makes you grumpy. And when you're irritable, you're also more susceptible to stress, worrying thoughts, and anger. Additionally, extra sleep also affects your libido. Rested people have more desire for a quickie. And those who have sex more often, well, they have it figured out.

When is the best time to clock out and head home? According to researchers, we actually can't do our work well after about four hours. Leaving an hour earlier is therefore perfectly acceptable, really. Just make sure to forward this piece to your boss. And then your day only lasts 4.5 hours, hooray.
