These things your love keeps secret from you according to science
No matter how much you love each other, you are still just human. And humans simply do not tell everything.
According to science, love has quite a few secrets for each other. Of course, a little white lie here and there should be fine, but research shows that we carry around an average of about thirteen secrets at the same time. Big secrets, mind you. At least five of these secrets will never be known by others; we keep them to ourselves our whole lives. And yes, the person we have the most secrets from is our partner.
This often involves small things, like how much your latest dress cost and how many dresses you've bought in the last month. How much of your salary goes to new bags and how many pairs of shoes you have in your closet. Those are small things. But there are also bigger secrets that we carry with us. Most of the big and important secrets that couples have for each other are about affairs and sexual escapades. In short: about cheating and that you really did kiss someone at the bar when your partner wasn't there.
Additionally, we often keep emotional desires secret. Because, for example, how nice it is to talk to that one male colleague, how much fun we have with a man we know from the past, how often we think about that one handsome ex... Well, you'd rather keep that to yourself, for the sake of peace. It's dishonest, but also logical.
And there's more. We also often keep financial matters secret from our partner. Not just about how much a dress costs, but also bigger things, like what your monthly salary is and what your student debt is. We also massively keep our mouths shut about whether we feel unhappy in the relationship. We happily bottle everything up. And that's not good. Because no matter how mysterious and exciting a secret sounds, it's not good for you. Carrying many secrets with you daily and having to do everything secretly is linked to depression and anxiety disorders.
In short: have a nice chat with your loved one tonight about the big things in life. After that, everything is easier than you think, believe us. And okay, he doesn't necessarily need to know that those white boots are new. Better for everyone.
