Wow, we gaan naar Ibiza...

Now I was warned by many: Ibiza would be love at first sight. It is a magical place that you simply cannot not love. My heart doesn't get conquered that easily, so I flew reasonably critical towards the Balearics. But soon I had to admit: there’s something magical about this place.

We just landed a day ago and already we are completely in chill mode. We is Lil and I. If you’re wondering: Yes, it’s a solid plan to travel with a colleague., read here why. Apart from a work trip here and there, we hadn’t really been on a do-nothing vacation this summer and suddenly the idea bubbled up: a week of doing absolutely nothing, not too far to fly, but guaranteed a success. Preferably to a place I’ve never been before, if only for the ‘discover’ feeling.

And suddenly there it was: Ibiza…

The island I’ve never been to. Can you believe it? Maybe precisely because everyone has already been there. The island where Lil set foot once before and immediately twisted that foot so badly that she had to go home right away. Ibiza actually has something to make up for, so we have the next eight days to do just that.

What’s on the agenda? Totally noppes nada. Makeup-free days, a few little things on the laptop here and there, a bit of floating in the pool of our Airbnb (maybe we bought a golden inflatable swan) and cruising around in the rental car to explore the island. Oh yes, and eating, that too. Especially a lot of delicious food. Because if those Spaniards can do anything, it’s that. Aioli, calamari, olive oil: I want to have it all.

The nice thing about discovering a new place is that you go in so unreservedly. Maybe we’ll join that hip little place tonight, maybe we won’t feel like fancying it up at all and we’ll grab baguettes to munch on top of our little hill in the north. Either way: for now we’re tuning out. An update in a few days, okay? And of course tomorrow the Expedition Robinson babbles. Because vacation or not, hell yeah I need to see the bitchfight between King Corry and Aisha.

See you tomorrow!
