Burger King is coming out with an ‘Unhappy’ Meal

Being sidelined by your great love. Buying a brand new powder box and dropping it hard on the ground two days later. Flying with Ryanair. Ripping open a milk carton because you can't get it open normally. Your phone miraculously dying at 15 percent while you just wanted to call a taxi. Starting with old cheese using the wrong cheese slicer. Arguing with your best friend. Just having a terrible feeling for an entire week. Sometimes life is just a bit shit. Really shit.

And then no one feels like having a ‘Happy’ Meal, Burger King must have thought. So they came up with the ‘Real Meals’, depending on your mood. Are you really pissed off? Fine, then you order the Pissed Meal. Feeling down? Then the Blue Meal might be for you. Delicious, a little crying over a hamburger. Or what about the Salty Meal, the YAAAS Meal, and the DGAF (Don’t Give A Fuck) Meal? There's something for every mood, no biggie.

The idea of the campaign is to address the importance of mental health, to be able to be yourself and simply express how you actually feel (and yes, goodbye, of course also to give all-time competitor McDonald's gray hairs, but also to provide space for some transparency in this Insta-era where we all just want to show ‘how well it's going’).

Yes, you can feel shit sometimes alongside being happy, euphoric, and totally the bomb, and come out about it. And I actually think that's pretty cool. I also get quite itchy from people who only throw around phrases like ‘positive vibes only’. You go, Burger King. At the next mental breakdown, I know where to find you. Warm up those fries, bye!
