Carolien sells her Chanel bag

Maybe not everyone who is 31 weeks pregnant would book a city trip to Copenhagen, but thanks to Otis’ lovely afternoon nap, we were forced to take it easy (although my step counter almost hit 18,000 every day...). We stayed at the citizenM hotel in the heart of the city: spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, and amazing art throughout the hotel. If you're going with small kids, bring your own crib. I received such a huge list of tips via Instagram, but we literally managed to do 20%. For those who have Copenhagen on their agenda soon: lunch at Atelier September or Fars Dreng, dinner at Høst or Paté Paté, and Tivoli is definitely a must-visit: even if you don't have kids.

My guilty pleasure is browsing beautiful designer vintage online. In terms of sustainability, I also find it important to choose a beautiful second-hand designer item more often than to buy something just because it's super hot at that moment. But I also like to sell my own designer items so they can have a nice second life. This coming weekend, Designer-Vintage is organizing a lovely sale at the Amstel Hotel where you can indulge yourself in suites full of beautiful designer items. Who knows, you might just shop an item from me.
Designer-Vintage Sale, Saturday, November 30 from 11 AM to 6 PM @ InterContinental Hotel, Amsterdam

I often get asked how we manage with Otis and babysitting: luckily we have a few nice regular babysitters, but often Jon and I have to work last minute in the evenings and we only find out on the day itself. Notably, I got the tip Charly Cares from my mother: a babysitting app that allows you to easily send out a babysitting request and select girls based on experience (for example, whether they have a first aid course, baby experience, etc.) and fee. Of course, it's difficult to trust your little one to a ’stranger‘, but we have also found a number of lovely girls through Charly Cares that I request first. What gives me peace of mind is that all babysitters are personally and thoroughly screened at the office and you can read reviews from other parents. One downside: I can no longer use the excuse ’I couldn't find a babysitter‘.

From the very first collection, I was immediately in love with Erik Frenken's designs. So far, his items survive every KonMari session: the ‘sparkle’ remains, also because the items are so timeless. This season, I couldn't resist scoring this beautiful lammy, of which I am sure will still be hanging in my closet in a few years. And I have good news: this week Frenken is organizing a sample sale, where you can score his collection at a significant discount. Believe me: you'll kick yourself if you don't take a look.
Frenken Sample Sale, November 28 from 3 PM to 9 PM, November 29 from 10 AM to 8 PM, November 30 from 10 AM to 3 PM, Lootsstraat 39, Amsterdam.
