Coffee brewing talk: everything you want to know this morning

The air conditioners are sold out in the Netherlands, our windows-doors-curtains remain tightly shut and we have never taken so long to do the groceries, because the supermarket is our cool refuge. But in the meantime, a lot has happened. We will update you on the sad and beautiful news.
Rutger Hauer is no more
The Netherlands bids farewell to one of its greatest actors. Rutger Hauer passed away on July 19 in Beetsterzwaag and was buried yesterday in a private ceremony. Turkish Delight was his breakthrough, which is still the most viewed Dutch film ever, in which he starred alongside Monique van de Ven. Hauer became known and acclaimed abroad through Paul Verhoeven's Soldier of Orange, and became a beloved actor in Hollywood. The director says he has lost his alter ego with Rutger Hauer. As a tribute to Hauer, NPO 3 will broadcast De Heineken Ontvoering tonight at 21:00.
Gordon is checking himself in
‘A tough but the only right decision,’ the presenter calls it himself. Via Facebook, he announces that he is checking himself into a rehab clinic. Gordon shares it with the world because he doesn't want to deal with the idiotic stories going around. He knows he will overcome this and hopes his privacy will be respected.
Start date of The Crown 3 leaks out
Netflix wanted to keep it a secret for a while, but now it seems that actor Tobias Menzies has let it slip. He told the BBC that the filming is finished and that the third season will be available from November. Oh yeah, the royals are almost back.
Anne Hathaway is expecting
Also good news today, as Anne Hathaway announces via Instagram that she is expecting number two. Not only that, she sends some extra love to her followers who are going through infertility hell: ‘It was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.’
The heat makes us dumber
If Harvard says it, then it’s true. The heat can cause our cognitive abilities to decrease by a stunning 13.5 percent. Your brain seems to perform best at a constant temperature of 16 degrees, but we are also doubling that today. Neurologist Van der Linden does nuance the story, as temperature has no more effect than sugars, meat, alcohol, and cigarettes. If you combine these today: be careful.
