For your bucket list: sailing with the Amsterdam Light Festival

If there is one thing that has been on my bucket list for a hundred and eighty years (yes, you have no idea how old I really am), it is to see the Amsterdam Light Festival while sailing. So I have already browsed the website about forty-four times, but the execution just never happened. Until now and I can't wait.

Yesterday I drove into the city around five and if I find anything cozy, it is winter in Amsterdam. The endless repetition of lights, the man and woman quickly squeezing into a small pub on the corner, a few people bundled up to the crown on a sloop in the canals, cheese fondue chalked on large plates, the ice rink being stamped out of the ground. And just when you think our city can't get any more beautiful, it starts. Amsterdam Light Festival.

You have the art, you have the lights, you have a boat AND there is glühwein. As you know, a boat alone is already for me synonymous with ultimate happiness, but I admit that art, light, and wine significantly increase the joy. Now we are also going with the whole Amayzine team and I am almost starting to cheer.

If you happen to be sailing through Amsterdam around six on December 3rd, raise a glass when we pass by. I promise you that we will toast back to you. With a thick sweater on, scarf wrapped around, and legs tucked into thermals (you don't have to see anything of that under a nice pair of pants). Starboard ensures warm bottoms as a grand finale, because we also have heated cushions. Yes, you can chuckle now, but no one gets warm from a frozen behind. Just believe me. Do you want to join? The nice and small cruises from the Starboard crew are our tip, at least you won't be crammed in with this and that, but just cozy with your own group.
