How To Get Away With Murder season 5 is a New Year's gift

It turns out that Netflix is full of good intentions for the coming year. Yesterday I already mentioned that Grace and Frankie returns on January 15 (which I'm still very happy about), but we also start this new year with the fifth season of How To Get Away With Murder. And you can take that starting literally: it will be online on January 1. But don't sit in front of the TV right after the New Year's wishes at 5 past 12, because Netflix actually always adheres to American times. So around nine o'clock you can go for it. You can binge the whole season in one go.
Does this New Year's thing sound familiar to you? It certainly can, because the previous four seasons also came out on January 1. It’s becoming a bit of a New Year's tradition, although we can't continue that for much longer. Unfortunately, they are now working on the sixth season and then it's over and done with How To Get Away With Murder. But hey, you already know what you can do next year on January 1. Sorry, in 2 years on January 1. Until 2021, you're all set.
But how did it go again? Well, a quick recap. Annalise Keating is back, and how. A new group of students she takes under her wing, now in their third year of law school, and once again, not everything goes smoothly. That’s to be expected and true to the title, a murder is committed. Connor and Oliver are getting married; wedding bells are always a nice addition.
Honestly, I think How To Get Away With Murder season 5 will be a bit more of the same, but the last four seasons were more than fine to watch. Innovative, not so much, but definitely addictive. If you're a sneaky streamer and are already completely caught up (season 6 is currently airing in America), you already know this, but I will be careful with the spoilers. A few hints: there are multiple deaths, we find out who Gabriel really is, and there’s a kidnapping coming at the end of season 5. Sounds good, right? Just a little longer to wait until January 1 and we can go again.
