Irina Shayk speaks out for the first time since the break-up with Bradley Cooper

The break-up of (so far) 2019: Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk. They seemed like such a dream couple, with a beautiful child, but unfortunately that relationship fell apart. Whether that was a little, or a lot, Lady Gaga's fault we will probably never know, but a reconciliation between Irina and Bradley seems quite unlikely. Both kept their lips tightly sealed after the break, but Irina has broken that silence. With a beautiful cover photo on Harper’s Bazaar, she is shining and has given an exclusive interview. About - how could it be otherwise - love.

Irina indicates that she has not lost hope for love. You go, girl. She still believes in marriage: ‘Yes, of course. I’m not the kind of person who is against it.’ I think many women would lose hope for love at least for a while after a break-up with Bradley. But yes, easy to say of course. Maybe he is actually a really dirty guy and never brushes his teeth or something. I don’t know, so for me he is still a dream man.

And Irina understands that too. She says about it: ‘I think it’s just human beings: if you cannot have it, you want to have it.’ She is quite right about that, yes. And she probably has quite a few admirers, and likely no shortage of attention. If you want to seize your chance: she has nothing against flowers. ‘Every time people send me flowers, I’m like, just send me a tomato plant!’ Okay, strange request.

But for now, even though she hasn’t given up hope for love, that is not her priority. That is her daughter Leah, who is now two years old. She sees that as her duty as a mother. Completely understandable, but can we still detect a little jab at Bradley? ‘Women can raise the kids, women can do the job, and when she’s back, she can cook and clean and do the heavy work too!’ As in, men – Bradley – can’t do those things? Oh well, maybe I’m just looking for something juicy in a sincere comment, that could be it too.

Anyway, Irina is doing fine, that’s clear. In the interview, she refers several times to her childhood in Russia and how she emerged there as a strong woman. ‘We never had men around.’ ‘You have to learn how to put a nail in the wall, how to hang the curtains. I know everything about how to plant potatoes and cucumbers because in Russia, it’s how you survive the winter.’ Quite a badass, that Irina. I have little experience with growing potatoes, I can tell you that. And you definitely don’t need to give me any tools.
