Mother or no mother: Workin’ Moms is your new favorite series on Netflix

I myself am still Koos Kinderloos, but I can no longer say that about many of my friends. They have long had the House and Tree and now also the Little One. Nice for them of course, but secretly I am also glad that I am not in that phase yet. not just yet . I still attach a lot of value to spontaneous plans, no broken nights, and especially doing what you feel like doing. All fine of course, but I do notice that my choice of films and series can sometimes depend on that. You won't make me happy with Teen Mom or the thousands of shows on TLC about parenting. And the Netflix series Dating Around did appeal to me again. So yes, I was a bit skeptical about the first episode of the new Canadian Netflix series Workin’ Moms… but I can tell you, I was completely wrong. This one is actually fun. And in many ways also mommy-proof; the episodes only last half an hour.
Recently, the entire first season is available on Netflix, but this season is already from 2017. In fact, the second season is already finished (a bit of pace with this please, Netflix) and as we speak, the third season is being filmed in Canada. For now, only the first season is on Netflix, but we have high hopes. Workin’ Moms has just been released and is already a big hit, so that second season can't be far off. By the way, the series is not only a hit on Netflix, last season was also nominated for an Emmy Award in the category ‘best comedy series’. Unfortunately, it didn't win, but participating is said to be more important than winning.
What is it about? The title actually says it all. Four different mothers return to their jobs when their maternity leave is over. And that doesn't go without struggles, so expect awkward situations when it comes to pumping, keeping your love life intact, doing your job well, and maintaining your family. For me, no recognizable situations, but very funny. And quite addictive too, as I went through the thirteen episodes of half an hour at a brisk pace. In terms of free time, I am clearly still doing well.
Okay, if you think; stop, this is really not my series, I have another tip for you. A movie tip, though, but still in the same binge-worthy category. Namely the film Isn’t It Romantic? starring Rebel Wilson. But Adam Devine, Liam Hemsworth, and Priyanka Chopra also have significant roles in it. It's far from Oscar-worthy, but it's a nice feel-good movie. And with the gloomy weather forecasts this week, I guess Netflix tips will be welcome.
Curious? Check out the trailer below, if you're still in doubt. Binge-watching the first season is of course not mandatory. Because you can also just watch one episode at a time, something I am going to try to teach myself.
