New Netflix movie The King features Robert Pattinson and we are already fans

If you have bad and good news, you should always start with the bad, right? Okay, I'll do that. Hold on tight. Twilight is leaving Netflix. Yes, really. All parts. Totally sucks of course, although you could say the same about the movies. We mainly watched for Robert Pattinson (who can even make a sparkling vampire sexy), and occasionally for Taylor Lautner. I find it funny that probably no one hates the Twilight franchise as much as Robert Pattinson himself. When asked in an interview what the similarities were between Robert and Edward Cullen, his answer was: “Um... I look like him.‘ Funny guy. Love it.

But well, Robert is now a Robert and acts in movies that you can watch without embarrassment. That's nice too. The latest addition will be The King, a Netflix movie that comes out on November 1. Besides Robert Pattinson, Lily-Rose Depp and Timothée Chamalet, who are actually a couple, will also be seen. So the cast is good, now for the rest.

Well, in terms of costumes and setting, I already give it a passing grade. As the name somewhat suggests, the story will indeed revolve around a king (played by Chamalet) who must take the throne after his father has passed away, a role he is not particularly looking forward to. He would rather live among the plebs and mingle with the people. If you are a literature lover, you might already know the story. The King is based on the books Henry 1 to 5 by none other than William Shakespeare. You understand: costume drama at its best.

I am praising Robert Pattinson to the heavens, but Timothée is also making a name for himself. You might know him from Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird, and Beautiful Boy. All fairly serious (drama) films, so I think he feels at home in this category. But honestly, I know what we are all going to do now: binge that Twilight saga anyway. As long as we can.
