On the Way to Tomorrow is coming back on TV

GTST is so 2018. The residents of Meerdijk have been our loyal friends for many years now (a whopping 19 years – holy crap) so around 8 o'clock, I used to prefer watching Goudkust (only for Winston Gerschtanowitz, I dare admit that now) and Onderweg Naar Morgen (Levi van Kempen, oh yes). And nowadays, all sorts of series are being remade, but that's really not always better. Apparently, the NPO thinks so too, and that's why they've decided to just air Onderweg Naar Morgen again. A path strewn with love and leeeed… starting April 29, they're back, you know. It apparently has to do with the rights of ONM, but it's season 13 that will be aired. In total, there were 17 seasons by the way. There's a good chance that you, just like me, will be ready every day at 7:30 PM for a new (old) dose of ONM, but suddenly dropping in after a cliffhanger in a season can be quite tricky. I got you covered, even a quick refresher course à la ONM.
Who all played in season 13? Well, not the least names, I assure you. We see a Sander Foppele, Jasmine Sendar, Lauretta Gerards, Levi van Kempen, and of course Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen (back then in the Jan Smit era). The patriarch of ONM was also there, JP, and Bettina Wertheimer. JP remains the coolest bartender ever, or is it just me? Confession: I had a minor role in my teenage years in ONM, as a barhanger at JP's. I can tell you: a role written for me. Hanging at the bar came very naturally to me. And I earned 25 euros from it, hopsakee.
What was it again? Fun fact: from season 12, the name was officially changed to ONM. Apparently, they thought that sounded smoother and hipper. The series also moved to BNN, which started airing ONM from season 13. Hence the issue with the rights, but there's also a good chance they'll air the following seasons too. Jippa-a-yay. A plus is that because of that move, they also introduced a lot of new faces in the series, so it’s quick to get into.
Well, after all the King's Day madness, we can just hang out on the couch again, and switch to NPO3 at 7:30 PM. Already looking forward to it. I'm definitely a big proponent of breathing new life into these old series. I remember that a petition was once started to get Fort Alpha back on the air. Apparently unsuccessful, because that revival never happened, but maybe I'll start it again. So, dear TV bosses, why stop here? Kees & Co is also coming back and now ONM. Give me Fort Alpha and a season of Goudkust and I promise to become the most loyal viewer you've ever experienced.
