The gourmet recipe that is indeed original
Not in the mood for a bite of chicken that you have to wait a quarter of an hour for or an egg that takes a tiny pan to cook? Don't get me wrong, I love gourmet cooking, but sometimes I get a bit tired of all those standard platters. Our neighbors from online food magazine FavorFlav to the rescue, with a truly original recipe.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken wings
- 5 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp hoisin sauce (recipe in book, p. 147)
- 1 tbsp mustard
- ¼ tsp chili flakes
- 4 tbsp sweet soy sauce
- spring onion, sliced
Here's how to make the sticky fingers chicken wings:
Preparation:
- Place the chicken wings in a small pot.
- Add the honey, hoisin sauce, mustard, chili flakes, and sweet soy sauce.
- Set over medium heat and bring to a boil with the lid on.
- Stir gently and regularly. Lower the heat and let simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Then remove the lid and let it reduce until the sauce is sticky.
- Stir regularly.
- Once the chicken wings are cooked, let them cool in the sauce for later use.
At the table:
Reheat the wings in the pots, with some extra sauce clinging to them.
Optionally place them under the grill to get crispy.
Sprinkle with some spring onion slices to finish it off.
