There is no right or wrong in breastfeeding

The big news is out, there's another little one on the way. Although it was a lovely secret we carried with us until yesterday, I also find it nice that it's now ‘out in the open’: that belly is hardly concealable anymore... We received so many lovely responses, thank you very much for that. Of course, I will keep you fully updated, share tips with you, and hopefully receive golden tips from you as well.

A space full of different food stalls: you can't make me happier. Now the Foodhallen in Amsterdam has become a household name, but they have gained extremely strong competition: the second floor of Magna Plaza has been transformed into The Food Department: numerous small stalls with the most diverse dishes. You can find classics like The Butcher and Van ’t Spit, but you can also go on a very exciting food tour. We ended up at Ta Toru, which serves innovative Moluccan dishes, and at Tacos en Tequila we tasted combinations we had never eaten before. If you're bad at making choices or your company all wants something different, then this is the place to be.

If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids in the coming weeks: check out the Bostheater. In the middle of the Amsterdamse Bos stands a beautiful open-air theater where they also host many children's performances. Yesterday we went with Otis to see The Gruffalo: one of my favorite books to read aloud. The little man sat in the front and attentively followed the whole spectacle. I can't wait to see what their next show will be.

This week is World Breastfeeding Week. I am often asked how we view breastfeeding in public with Lemej. breastfed We find it especially important that every mother does what she feels comfortable with: feeding without a shawl, with a shawl, or in a quiet, secluded place. It's not about what the outside world thinks, but what you feel comfortable with as a mother. As mothers, we should support this and not push our own opinions: if someone wants to feed with a shawl because she feels more comfortable or because the little one gets less distracted, then that is her right. The Lemej nursing shawl was developed for those moments, so you can create a nice, calm environment without your baby feeling suffocated or completely covered. Thanks to the boning at the top, the shawl always stays open, allowing you to see what’s happening and keeping the little one in contact with mama. I don't want to withhold this beautiful quote from you: ‘Here’s to all the mamas that either aspire to breastfeed, have been breastfeeding for a while or were never able to. Here’s to the formula feeding mamas, the pumping mamas, the mamas who do both and the tube feeding mamas. We see you and you make us proud! You are doing an amazing job.‘
