This is how Rotterdam sees the Eurovision Song Contest

What is it really about? The Eurovision Song Contest is so much more than just singing a song on a stage. Rotterdam gets to show what it's all about this year, and the slogan that the event carries from now on says it all: open up.
For the organization, it was simple; after about a hundred conversations, there was only one word that kept coming up: open. Because open is how people see us, that is who we are. Our people are open-minded and we often say what we think, as the event's executive producer Sietse Bakker explains. I lived in Rotterdam myself, and if there's one thing they are, it's open, straightforward, and very much themselves. And I believe that's still an understatement. Well said, in my opinion. Let's see how that turns out in May, surely amazing.
In the video, they ask a lot of questions, because is the Song Contest about music, is it about all the glitter and glamour, is it nice to get to know each other, or can the Eurovision Song Contest be exactly what you want it to be? One thing we already know: the Song Contest connects Europe through music, and that's what Rotterdam needs to show. Just take a look for yourself.
