This will be the new Netflix series that you absolutely want to see

For years, Anna Delvey was a New York City socialite. In fact, that was just her job. Or rather, job... This Anna Delvey became world-famous a year ago because she had lied about everything as a socialite. She claimed to have a wealthy father who invested in art galleries with her. It turned out not to be entirely true: her father was a truck driver who had very little to do with art. It also turned out that Anna's real name was not Delvey but Sorokin and that she was not American but Russian. Unfortunately, everyone only found out after she had been sleeping in hotels (and not paying), booking way too luxurious trips to places like Marrakech (and not paying), and eating and drinking in the most expensive places of New York (and, you guessed it, not paying).

Not paying became quite a thing and eventually, Anna was caught. At this moment, she is in prison, where she has already broken several rules. Madame still feels like the diva but doesn't quite realize that it doesn't work that way in prison, I believe. No idea if she will experience the plans surrounding her life, because they are certainly there. Shonda Rhimes is busy making a series about her fraudulent existence. Not just anyone: she is also the woman behind Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, among others.

Inventing Anna will be the name of that series and Anna Chlumsky and Julia Garner (from Ozark) will play the lead roles. Laverne Cox also gets a small role. The series will have ten episodes and the release date is unfortunately not yet known. However, it will be somewhere in 2020, but yes, that is quite a broad concept, of course. I think this will be a really nice hit. Glamorous New York City, a woman who reaps all the benefits and the schadenfreude when that same woman gets caught... Love it already. And honestly, who doesn't dream of such an extravagant existence in this city?  Especially that not paying, I quite like that too.

By the way, Shonda Rhimes is not the only one bringing Anna's story to the screen, Lena Dunham is also busy with a series for HBO. It will be based on the story of a Vanity Fair editor who also had to testify in the trial. So Anna ultimately gets what she wants: fame and recognition. Unfortunately, it is when she is behind bars, but still.
