On the editorial team, Adeline and I are the bookworms. We can both devour a fresh book and sniff it, and we ritualistically pounce on the first sentence. And sometimes on the last. On the groove that binds our desks lies a beautiful stack, waiting to be read. We read the reviews, requested copies from the publisher, and are now waiting for that bit of free time when we can hold a book above us horizontally with our arms in the air. I immediately snatched one book from the pile. Time or no time, I had to read this. Family Secrets by Astrid Holleeder. So there I was, with eyes battling my head over who wins. The sleeper or the hungry one. I can at least tell you that Adeline has this book back on her desk very quickly, waiting to be devoured by her just like I did.
