I heard May mention it before, about the Dutch series Overspel. But while rewatching it in the ’I don't understand this’ way, I quickly lost interest. Until I saw 'Overspel' at the top of the series list. New in March. Yeah, and just at the moment when I really didn't feel like Newsflix ‘an OK and a scalpel and was annoyed by the ending of dirty John. Just plan a weekend for it, because once you start the series with Sylvia Hoeks and Fedja van Huêt in the lead roles, you want to binge three seasons in a row. In short: it’s about Sylvia who plays Iris Hoegaarde, a photographer who marries Pepijn van Erkel, a public prosecutor. Together they have a son, but Iris soon comes into contact with Willem Steenhouwer (Fedja), which ultimately leads to an affair.

Willem works for his father-in-law (because he is of course also very much married) Huub, who is suspected of a number of shady dealings, causing the Public Prosecution Service (including Pepijn) to try to bring a case against him, and that is anything but smooth sailing. From an innocent person ending up in prison and a shooting incident to a contract killing and yet another affair here or there: Overspel is a must-see, and today.
