We were sad when blonde puppy Kalvijn had to clear the field. Shocked at Thomas Berge. Angry, but really angry we were at the Island Council of Tim Coronel.

The creators must have noticed it. For the first time, Nicolette Kluijver speaks out about the tactical aspect this season. When she was asked in Boulevard how it can be different from now on, she came up with a – quite brilliant – solution, if you ask me. Because what if candidates could earn points in a challenge? Points that strong players can then use when they receive votes against them at the Island Council? ‘Every year we innovate at Expeditie Robinson,’ says Nicolette, ‘so something will undoubtedly be done so that strong players can also advance a round.’

You know, Nico, as contradictory as ‘undoubtedly maybe’ sounds, I actually think this is quite a great plan. A little more back to the basics of Robinson (being able to survive as a strong individual on a deserted island) and a little less alliances and scheming.
