Look, look, look: The Yard on Netflix

Viewers of Orange is the New Black viewers of Vis a Vis, pay attention. Actually, Netflix viewers in general, because this is quite a fun one. The Yard is the new series you want to see. Unless you've seen the series Wentworth (I don't fall under that category). This is actually a Turkish remake of it, so if you have seen that series, you will find too many similarities. A little side note: in Turkey, the series is known as Avlu, which is also the title on my Netflix. A bit confusing, then.

As you might have expected, this series takes place in prison. A mother has shot her husband and has to go to prison for it. A tough prison, which is actually run by the inmates. A bit like what Orange is the New Black tried to do in season 5.

There are already three seasons of The Yard out, of which only the first one is online. The other two will, if I may believe my good friend Google, follow soon. Because The Yard is a hit on Netflix. I had to get used to the Turkish a bit, but with the subtitles, I was quite hooked by the end of episode one. If you really prefer to listen in English, you can adjust that by the way. I hate dubbing, so I didn't do that myself.

Well, you hear it: your new addiction is being offered to you on a silver platter. And that timing comes in very handy, after binging Vis a Vis (and on that spin-off we unfortunately still have to wait a bit), the tears have just dried after the end of OITNB and to be honest: I was ready for a new series that I don't want to turn off. For the weather, we currently don't need to go outside. The season of only Netflix has officially started as far as I'm concerned.
