Vis a Vis is getting a spin-off and this is what you want to know about it

The addiction and welcome newcomer this year was for many (including yours truly) Vis a Vis. A bit Orange Is The New Black-like, which worked out well, because we had to say goodbye. Unfortunately, we didn't get a spin-off from the latter, but Vis a Vis does have one coming. And good timing, because that last season is now also on Netflix and I've already finished it. So bring on that spin-off.

It's going to be called El Oasis and – maybe a small spoiler if you haven't seen the last season – it will revolve around the duo Macarena and Zulema. In the last season, they became sort of allies and in the very last episode, we got a flashforward of this duo. Clearly still on the path of crime; twenty years later they are involved in jewel heists and banks and casinos are also not exactly safe. The viewers liked that, and that's why the creators decided to use this as the plot for the spin-off. So far, no criticism from my side.

As the icing on the cake, Macarena and Zulema want to steal the tiara from the daughter of an important Mexican drug lord. Look, that doesn't seem very smart to me. We'll have to wait and see. El Oasis will have eight episodes and they are currently busy with the recordings. Last good news: familiar faces like Goya, Sandoval, and Román are also back.
