Why we can no longer wait for Sex Education season 2

Sex Education is for me definitely the discovery of the year. It came out in January 2019, set the bar quite high right away and is, as far as I'm concerned, still unmatched. A truly fun comedy series is always difficult, I think. I even come across people who Friends don't like it (how is that possible?), but I seriously haven't heard anyone complain about Sex Education. Rightly so, because I laughed so hard. Season 2 was announced quite quickly with the words ‘It's coming...’, which I thought was a nice pun. But eh, where is that season then?
Well, that's going to take a while, but the people at Netflix want to let us know that they are indeed working on it. They shared a short clip of the cast doing their first table read. So they are working on the pre-production of season 2 and that makes me quite happy. It's also nice to see that the entire cast is back (and Otis with bleached highlights). Now I should mention that season 2 is only scheduled for January 2020. That means for me a lot of rewatching season 1.
Because yes, how did that go again? I don't know what you all think, but I really hope that Maeve and Otis end up together. No matter how much I wanted him to be with Ola, with Maeve it’s just… Well, #endgame? A bit of a shame that Maeve only realized that in the very last episode (unlike me, who knew it from episode number one), but she now has a whole season to win him back.
I'm not really a hero when it comes to sad moments in series and movies, so oh my god, I was a wreck after that episode with Eric. Right, that episode where Otis leaves him for the movie (I definitely won't watch that episode again for my own well-being). So for season two, I really hope that Otis will be a nicer and better friend to him. I really liked their friendship and it was refreshing. Something different than the standard plot of searching for true love à la How I Met Your Mother.
As I said, the entire original cast is back (so of course also Otis’ mother, for which I hope for many awkward scenes), and I wouldn't even mind if a new face joins. I am curious whether Otis has now fully discovered the climax and of course whether the love between Eric and Adam has blossomed. Maybe until season 2 I will write my own Sex Education fan fiction, I'm full of ideas. Anyone interested in becoming my first reader?
