Bad news for Expeditie Robinson fans...

Aaaaah no way... RTL 4 was doing its best to save the whole mess, but the bullet has gone through the church. The recordings of the new season of Expeditie Robinson have been postponed until further notice. Currently, it is too unsafe in the Philippines to record the television program. Oh shit.

This is not only a bummer for the loyal viewers, but of course also for the makers.

“I can still feel the vaccination shots,” says Nicolette Kluijver, who shared in a video with the world on Monday that Robinson cannot currently be made. “We have been coming to the Philippines for so long that the local crew has started to feel a bit like family.”

Initially, there was still an attempt to save the recordings through a protocol where regular corona tests would take place. At the last moment, a different decision was made. A small consolation for the Expeditie Eppo's: postponement does not mean cancellation, according to Nicolette. “Safety is the priority for now. For the participants, but also for the crew. We just won't be making it right now.”

Does that mean we will still be presented with a season of Robinson? Yep. However, this calendar year is likely to be difficult. However, RTL spokespersons indicated yesterday that alternative locations are being considered in the meantime. If an alternative location is found, the season will be broadcast at the earliest in early 2021.
