Carolien started doing spicy DIY projects

Yesterday my timeline was filled with black screens. #blackouttuesday was the subtitle. I also posted out of solidarity and attention, only to continue with my daily activities. Fuck. Without realizing it, I completely overlooked it: a blackout means complete silence, nothing else for a moment. In my small world, something was happening that is a good example of ‘the bigger problem’. Everyone participates in something, commits to something for a short time, and then not much is done with it anymore. That is exactly what yesterday was about: not only standing still on that Tuesday regarding racism, but also doing something about it afterwards. I read a number of reactions from people who said that racism really doesn't happen in the Netherlands, that everyone is ‘against racism anyway’ and that this problem is ‘now being hyped and has blown over from the USA’. I was shocked by this: take a good look around you, because racism occurs every day. And yes, certainly also in our country. I will read more about it so hopefully I can contribute to a global change and I fervently hope that you will join me.

Wednesday craft day! Yesterday I was feeling a bit lost and had no idea what to do, until I suddenly remembered: there’s a project just waiting in my closet. A while ago I bought a ‘porn embroidery’ from All She Ever Wanted. Yes, you heard that right: porn embroidery, it’s a term. And if you check their Insta account, you’ll understand why this is so cool: the coolest spicy artworks that you can buy ‘finished’, but you can also order as a DIY kit. I bought a fairly modest version and I’m already addicted. There will definitely be more embroidery pieces to follow...

For the first time in five months a massage, man oh man, what a treat. Now these are of course not primary needs, although during the massage I suddenly realized how tense my neck and back actually are from all that hauling and feeding. From this week the spas are also reopening and I’m really looking forward to some laps in the pool and a sauna session in the Away Spa at W Amsterdam. Do I find such a location exciting in terms of hygiene? I’m sure that all these places will be cleaned extremely carefully and they will set everything up according to the guidelines.

These summery temperatures call for a summer wardrobe. I mainly knew the clothing brand Deha for their delicious ‘active’ line, but they also have beautiful fashion items that are also comfortable to wear. For our lovely boat trip last weekend, I chose this outfit and when I look back at these safari prints in the photos, this set will definitely come with me to Beekse Bergen this coming weekend.
