Coffee brewing chatter: this is the most beautiful photo of the year

A very good Friday morning, it is home working day number twenty-five and the temperature is heading towards twenty today. Further in the news: public transport has to continue without a free newspaper, but fortunately we don't have to worry about the Meilandjes.
This is the most beautiful photo of the year
Not with the usual display of a gala and the handing out of awards, but there is indeed a World Press Photo chosen. This year it is the sensitive shot by photographer Yasuyoshi Chiba that takes the honor. It is a photo of a young man from Sudan, illuminated by mobile phones at a demonstration just after a military coup in the country.
The cheapest iPhone ever
The world could use a little surprise, Apple must have thought, because suddenly here is the cheapest iPhone ever. It is one from the SE series. The exterior looks the same as the 6, 7, and 8, but the phone has substance because it has the same chip as the iPhone 11. By the way, if you miss the home button, the SE has it again. For 489 euros, the cheapest version is yours, but if you trade in an old one, you only have to pay 349 euros.
The paper Metro is no more
Sp!ts, De Pers, and Metro, that was together with a coffee at the counter the round I used to do before I got on the train. But the paper Metro era is no more. The free newspaper announced it would only continue digitally. I find it a shame because Metro was a bit of the charm of public transport for me. Thank you for the loyal service all those train rides.
The Meiland family is not going bankrupt
The rumor mill was in full swing yesterday, as the Meiland family was said to be facing bankruptcy. Nothing of the sort, Martien and Erica let RTLBoulevard know. Due to the measures in France, the family had to cancel reservations until May 11. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, that’s out of the way.
