Dreams come true: with lounging on the couch you burn calories

Sitting at home, we do it quite a lot these days with the favorite spot (apart from that beautifully styled home office) the couch. And to be honest: lounging on the couch every now and then is a favorite for everyone, right? And maybe you thought (along with me) that it wasn't, but it turns out that lounging on the couch isn't so bad after all. In fact, you even seem to burn calories while doing it. Curious how that works? Well, I am, so I immediately looked it up for us. Here's the thing: experiments show that people burn ten percent more calories in the late afternoon and early evening, when they are resting, than when they go into relaxation mode early in the morning. So if you're a morning exerciser, that's great, because in the evening your body does the work on its own.

The amount of energy we burn or store as fat is influenced not only by what we eat but also by when we eat and thus also rest. Regularity in your eating and sleeping pattern is therefore super important. At least... if you find free calories on the couch an interesting story. I say: eat, sleep, lounge on the couch, and repeat, ha-ha. Sounds almost too good to be true, right?
