Coffee brewing talk; the happy news you've been waiting for

Coffee brewing talk 20 March

Your Amayzers are now on homework day six. On Monday, I still dived into every push message that came in, but today it's mainly the good news that draws me in. That's why I do coffee-brew talk, but the happy edition.

The Netherlands is happy
We are ranked number six happiest country in the world in the annual World Happiness Report. Down one place from last year, but then we still have little to complain about. Only Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Denmark and Finland beat us in terms of being happy. Remarkable result: in the Netherlands, people living in cities are less happy than those in the countryside. Food for thought.

Ron Blaauw cooks for heroes and the elderly
Culinary news that gave me a little bit of goose bumps this morning. Top chefs Eugene van Angelbeek, Ron Blaauw and Arjan Kräwinkel join their teams in cooking for people in key professions as well as the elderly. Restaurants are at a standstill, workers are sitting at home and in this way they are helping the very heroes who keep our country running. John Heitinga and Kees van Dam's ‘Plate for our heroes and the elderly’ initiative is now only running in Amsterdam and Amstelveen, but you can sign up and expand. On the site, you can also sign up your loved ones for such a sign.

Game of Thrones writer is writing
George R.R. Martin, the man behind the (if I do say so myself) brilliant GoT series is seizing the quarantine time to escape to Westeros. By his own admission, he is spending more time there than at the remote location, where 71-year-old Mr Martin is currently residing. A sequel is coming, ladies and gentlemen.

Hospital shows donate mouth caps to healthcare
No Grey's Anatomy for a while, no The Resident for a while, so no Meredith Grey running around the hospital in a suit and protective mouth caps either. That's why the series donates all its medical supplies to hospitals in the area. Chapeau!

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is coming to Netflix
Our favourite streamer is trying to provide quarantine distractions and they are succeeding quite well. Thus, the blockbuster starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt comes to Netflix with a rush of blood. One to go watch, because Leonardo (I should probably say Leonardo) shows what a gifted actor he really is.

Wuhan had a first day without infections
And that, that's really good news...
