Forget TikTok, we're going back to Insta

If you had even started on TikTok - I was still in denial - then you can just delete the app now. Instagram ensures that from now on we need nothing else but Insta.
Think back to the moment when Snapchat grew in popularity and it seemed for a while that Instagram was becoming redundant. The social giant didn't let that happen, because suddenly there were Stories. And now the world has massively started TikToking in quarantine, but here too it seems Instagram is putting a stop to it in the form of the new Instagram Reels. What is it? A feature within the app that allows you to record 15-second videos and then add a fun little tune underneath. I don't know if you get the same feeling, but it all feels eerily familiar to me.
It's a good move from Instagram, which is back in the hands of Facebook. The Chinese TikTok is currently at odds with America over collecting user data, making the launch almost perfectly timed for Zuckerberg and company. And honestly: it's much clearer to just have everything nicely in one timeline again. Apparently, Insta a.k.a. Facebook is investing tons in bribing famous TikTokers to choose Reels.
