Goodbye Chateau: the Meiland family returns to the Netherlands

Now those Meilandjes really need to explain something to me. First, they put all their heart and soul into that Chateau Marilleaux, the whole thing gets pimped up with all the goddamn - and I must say - hilarious ruckus, and now? Now they're leaving it again? Naaaaa. What a situation. What a shame. The French adventure is over. Everything is over, mes cheries.

For some time, there has been speculation about a possible move of the Meilandjes (yes, that chateau was even for sale), and last night there was confirmation. The family will finish the season, pack their bags, and return to the Netherlands. ’We have such great news,’ says Martien in a video. ’We are moving! But not here in France, we are going back to the Netherlands.’

To be honest, we could kind of sense that. ’Chateau Marillaux will still exist in two years, but not with us under that roof. We want something different, but what exactly, we don't know yet,’ Martien said earlier in interviews. But what if you have a reservation at the famous castle? No panic: for now, you can still go to the Meilandjes. The chateau has not yet been sold. In the Netherlands, the family has already bought a house. And whether it will be a fixer-upper is still a question...
