Mega update about MAFS season 5

So, that's it again. A work week of MAFS and how it flew by, right? I must honestly say that I found this fifth season quite an adjustment. There were clearly fewer fillers present and a bit less botox, but I was a bit afraid that it also meant there was less drama... But noooo. It was just pure enjoyment again.

But now season 4 has started (a bit of a strange progression of the seasons, if you ask me) and it's of course time for a mega update on the couples from season 5. Is there anyone still together?

Sarah and Telt
They said at the end that they wanted to stay together (which I didn't necessarily see coming), but are they still together? Well... No. In fact, after they broke up in March 2019, they faced each other in court due to assaults. After the verdict, they were not allowed to speak publicly about each other anymore. Grim. Meanwhile, Telv had a third child with an ex-girlfriend and has since gotten involved with someone else, a Katie Beever.

Jo and Sean
These two did not make it to the finish line, as you probably knew. After filming, Sean was briefly linked to Gabrielle (the wife of Nasser), something he has always denied. Hmmm... Not much exciting with these two: for now, they are both single.

Melissa and John
For these two, a happy ending. But... Not with each other. Even though they made it to the finish line and said they wanted to stay together, they didn't hold on to that for long. Although they are both not too sad about it, you know: Melissa is getting married (her wedding was canceled due to corona) and Sean has been in a relationship for almost two years now.

Tracey and Dean
Yesss, the juice — THE JUICE. Also in this season (or should I say ‘already’? This season was of course aired earlier) there was quite a bit of cheating going on here and there. Dean kissed Davina and that understandably didn't sit well with Tracey. Therefore, she decided that she couldn't trust him and couldn't continue with him. By the way, Dean still claims that it was all ‘fake news’. Tracey didn't care, she had her eye on Sean. But that didn't last either. Tracey is now in a new relationship and Dean is single.

Carly and Justin
Carly also caused quite a bit of drama when her relationship with Troy came to light. Not that her relationship with Justin had any chance, they had already thrown in the towel before the end. Carly is now not with Troy anymore, but with actor Neil Goldsmith. She is expecting their first child. Justin's relationship status is unclear, but it seems that he is single.

Davina and Ryan
Davina and Dean... That was also something Ryan couldn't really get over and these two also didn't make it to the finish line. Funny detail: Ryan then ran off with Charlotte Crosby, aka the Charlotte from Geordie Shore. Whaaaat. That relationship also didn't last and now Dean is single. Davina has been happily with someone named Jaxon for a while, with whom she had a daughter in 2019.

Charlene and Patrick
Very strange, this one. They stayed together until the end and also announced that they wanted to give it a chance afterwards, but that went a bit differently. Reportedly, Patrick ghosted Charlene and just didn't contact her after filming. Well, well, that's quite clever. Well, they broke up, after which Charlene ran off with Mathew. From this season. HUH. It really seems like one big swap fest this season.

Alycia and Mathew
Well, these two also didn't make it. Alycia doesn't mind much, she has since moved to Melbourne for love. According to the latest news, Mathew is still single.

Gabrielle and Nasser
Unfortuately, they also didn't make it to the finish line. Not entirely surprising, by the way, because these two were really not a match at all, were they? If you want to see more of Nasser: he also participated in the Australian version of First Dates.

Blair and Sean
Aahh, this was painful. Blair wanted to continue, but Sean didn't. He clearly preferred Tracey but that didn't last either. By the way, Sean has written a book about his time on MAFS and about what was true or not behind the scenes. You understand that I am currently ordering that on bol.com. A review will follow, of course.

So, conclusion: THERE IS NO ONE TOGETHER ANYMORE. Well, say. A work week spent on this (what hard work it was again), and no one is just together. On to season 4 then...
