New thriller with Riverdale's Camila Mendes is coming to Netflix

One of the reasons I still faithfully watch Riverdale is because of the cast. And then the main four (plus Cheryl). Because the storylines have actually been unmanageable for about two seasons now. By now, I'm at a point where I have absolutely no idea what it's about 95 percent of the time. Serial killers? Magic? Crazy games that everyone is confused about? Cults? Drugs? It could all be. Throw in some twins and other vague family members and voilà: you have Riverdale.
But I genuinely like the actors. That's why I also watched Five Feet Apart, because: Cole Sprouse. That's why I also watched The Sun Is Also A Star, because: Charles Melton a.k.a. Reggie. And now I'm watching Dangerous Lies on April 30, because: Camila Mendes. In other words, Veronica. In other words, a movie that every Riverdale fan wants to see.
And every thriller fan too, by the way. Because that's what it is, a thriller. Camila Mendes plays the main character Katie, a caregiver who takes care of an old man. That old man suddenly passes away, after which Katie discovers that he had a substantial inheritance. He was doing well (which is to be expected if you can afford a full-time caregiver in America), but the big surprise is that he leaves everything to Katie. BAM, suddenly a millionaire. Cash, you would think.
That's not the case, because with the inheritance, Katie and her husband get into serious trouble. Deception and murder, that kind of stuff. Just check the trailer. What struck me especially and was another reason to watch it, was who plays the old rich man: Jack Geller. I just can't see that man as anything other than the clueless father of Monica and Ross, so I'm very curious how he pulls it off.
And, to be honest... But it can't be worse than The Sun Was Also A Star, right? I watched that out of my Riverdale love, but that was really not a masterpiece, I must say. And I secretly do enjoy some guilty pleasure thrillers, so this one is definitely going on the list.
