New Tiger King docu comes on TV this week

Don't lie: you can't get enough of Joe Exotic. I personally find it very nice to know that this guy is now behind bars, because as far as I'm concerned, he's doing just fine there, but his Tiger King docuseries was quite remarkable. It's special how each episode managed to be just a bit weirder than the one before it. Really, I am rolling from one surprise to another. Job well done, Netflix.
But what Netflix can do, we can do too. Apparently, they thought so at Animal Planet. Say whut? Yeah, it's true, the animal channel is totally into Joe. Surviving Joe Exotic is the documentary they made, four months before he was thrown in jail. The footage was initially made for the program Wolves and Warriors, but they quickly realized after the huge success at Netflix that they might as well make a whole Joe Exotic special out of it.
You might have expected it a bit, but Surviving Joe Exotic is made by Animal Planet, so this docu mainly focuses on the animals that lived in G.W. Zoo and were not exactly well cared for by Joe Exotic — which is of course no surprise to anyone. I am really a big animal lover, so I want to see this docu, but I don't know if my tender heart can handle it.
I can think about how I'm going to approach that, because it will be available from Saturday, July 25. On — seems logical, but I'll mention it anyway — Animal Planet. It will also be the first time in a long while that I won't immediately press the Netflix button on the remote. Just watching old school TV again. Let's see if I can still do that.
