Nooooo, The Handmaid’s Tale is delayed

Blessed be the fruit? May the lord open? Under his eye? How can this happen under his eye, I feel totally not blessed today. Because this is just completely Kaa Uu Tee-news. I had really expected that The Handmaid’s Tale would return this year. Because why not? We have been waiting long enough. The first season came out in 2017, the second in 2018, the third in 2019 and the fourth in… 2020? It seemed like such an easy calculation and I never passed math. But anyway, all logic goes out the window: The Handmaid's Tale not coming this year. 2021 at the earliest. It is now June. That means at least another six months of waiting, while the new season was actually supposed to come out this fall. And that is just really disappointing.
Okay, there was a pandemic going on that caused all film shoots to be on hold so it’s not entirely the creators' fault but still… A YEAR DELAY? I find that quite outrageous. I just want to know how it continues, because I was really into it with season 3 and hallelujah, that series remains so exciting.
Warning: here come spoilers. I consider the chance quite small that you haven't finished season 3 yet (because again: that came out in 2019 and it is now 2020 and I am so bummed about this), but if that is the case then you are hereby warned. That finale. THAT FINALE. What a hero June is, I would have long and wide sat down with my ass in Canada at the very first chance I got and there is no way anyone would get me back into Gilead. But June stayed.
A group of children and Marthas managed to rescue her from Gilead and successfully brought her to Canada – on a plane no less – but June decided to stay in Gilead and keep fighting. Creator Bruce Miller told the Hollywood Reporter: ‘She will not leave without Hannah.’ Anyway, the question is how June will enter season 4, because she was shot in the last episode. I have good hope for that, I’m not worried about whether June will make it or not.
The storyline I am most looking forward to is that of Serena. Oooh, how I hated her in the very first season. Truly the most disgusting woman. But this season — okay, you can never really justify her actions — I have become a bit of a fan of hers. But unfortunately, she had become a bit too optimistic, because Serena thought she wouldn’t get arrested… Well, she did. Violations of human rights, sexual slavery, and rape are the charges. Not light.
And, last but not least: where is Nick? You know, Nichole's father? That one guy we last saw in episode six of season 3? I understand that there are really enough storylines in The Handmaid’s Tale that also deserve attention, but… Writers, have you completely forgotten about him?
