Pathé is giving away free movies during the lockdown

As you probably have heard, the cinemas have to close again. Something with a virus that we in the Netherlands have not yet managed to completely get rid of. So we are once again reliant on Netflix, Videoland or — the horror — TV including commercials? Well, yes. But there is more. Still a bit of cinema experience; Pathé is giving away free movies.

And they do this every day, on Pathé Thuis. So every day there is a free movie available and that is actually very good news. Every morning they announce via their social media which movie it is that day. And there is a small chance that you can find that same movie on another streaming service: it concerns films that were recently still showing in the cinema. So really a bit of cinema experience at home.

You can actually further perfect that cinema experience yourself. Because what I do not miss about that experience are the cinema seats, where I just can't seem to find a comfortable position, so my couch already has a head start.

But that popcorn. Seriously, it's always tastier in the cinema than at home, right? Now I suspect that this is due to the extra kilo of salt they throw on it compared to the ready-made ones in the supermarket. Not exactly healthy, but very tasty, so sprinkle that salt.

That popcorn is of course presented in those handy containers where small pieces always get stuck at the bottom of the folds, but that is part of it. So yes, we are going to make that at home as well. It can be done easily, because Pathé has found something for that too. A mold with which you fold it completely yourself. Hatsaaa, let that cinema night come. They have it in different sizes by the way, but I hope I'm not the only one who always goes for the large combo (and then ends up stuffing myself with that salty popcorn and being completely dried out). CAN'T WAIT.
