Roy Donders is participating in a new dating show

Roy Donders dating show

This week a familiar face in the dating show of SBS6, Long Live Love. Never seen it? Let's quickly go through the concept: on a date, you get the chance to get to know each other extensively, because you are almost stuck together for 24 hours. If it clicks, you can extend those 24 hours to a maximum of five days. Sounds pretty simple, right? Now, dating shows are not really known for having a complicated plot anyway. But good, it is becoming increasingly important that someone is not just a nice picture to look at but that there is actually a personal connection.

So no meat inspection (although I sometimes miss the OG dating show Dismissed on MTV), and this week a celebrity gives it a chance. Yes, yes: Roy Donders takes a shot at love in this series. He was already a big fan of the dating show and he thought it was ‘really something for him’, but whether the date Brijan is really his cup of tea we obviously don't know yet.

Roy is tackling it well right away, by the way, because this was not only his first blind date on TV, but actually his very first blind date. Well, then you can indeed tackle it big and let that date last at least 24 hours and also broadcast it on TV. For Roy, there was another plus point, because his famous face is somewhat in the way of his dating life.

He never knows if people like him or just find him interesting because he is famous. ‘I always wonder if people are attracted to me for who I am or because I am famous.’ We will experience that. By the way, not much is known about the mysterious Brijan yet, but Roy does not follow anyone with that name on Instagram. Of course, that doesn't have to mean anything, but it is striking, isn't it?

Or Roy and Brijan think that we should all just follow their date on TV en masse first. Well then, Wednesday is the day you need to tune in to SBS.
