Say what? The second season of Sex Education also has a different - better - ending

SPOILERS. Yes, I'm just going to get straight to the point before everyone comes at me. I am a bit jealous, by the way, because that means you haven't finished the second season of Sex Education yet. Honestly, the second season, I didn't think I would enjoy it this much again. It's quite unique that a second season is just as great as the first. That doesn't happen very often in my opinion, I'm looking at you, Riverdale, Shooter, and especially Pretty Little Liars (I still have trauma from that). But Sex Education has managed to pull it off. Laughed, cried (Adam and Eric, I don't need to say more) and the feeling that lingered after the very last episode: frustration. So. Much. Frustration.
Because yes, I unfortunately can't think of another word for that ending. Dear writers, we have now binged two full seasons very hard and still, not one kiss between Maeve and Otis? NOT ONE? You have certainly mastered the whole cat-and-mouse game, that is for sure. First Otis in love, then Maeve not - oh Maeve actually does, then Otis not. Oh, Otis actually does, so then they were both in love. Sounds good, but it still wasn't meant to be. If that kiss doesn't come in season 3, there might be casualties. Not in the form of people, by the way, but the chance is quite high that I will throw something hard at my TV. I haven't been this passionate about a TV couple since Ross and Rachel were on a break.
But what turns out now? There is also just an alternative ending filmed, the creators reveal now. The creators themselves found it somewhat sadistic (understandably) to not give Otis and Maeve another happy ending. So what did they do: they filmed another ending for fun. Here come the biggest spoilers, so if you haven't dropped out yet and don't want to know the ending, you have been warned. Maeve and Otis both walk away from the trailer park where Maeve lives, each going in a different direction and both with a smile on their face. What Otis doesn't know at that moment is that the devil himself, Isaac, has deleted Otis's phone love declaration to Maeve from the voicemail. He still thinks Maeve hears it and they can finally make those #couplegoals happen. But not so. This is the original ending and it is anything but satisfying.
The ending we actually wanted to see - excuse me, that we actually deserve - has also been filmed. Instead of Otis and Maeve walking in different directions, we see in this ending that they turn around at the very last moment. TOWARDS EACH OTHER. They see each other. They laugh. They walk towards each other. Okay, we don't see that final kiss in that alternative ending either, but it is implied and that is already more than we have gotten in two seasons. At least we have the guarantee that it will be okay. Unfortunately, this ending was not aired and the creators don't even want to show it to anyone. But it exists. Come on, dear creators, give us this happy ending as a bonus?
