The most remarkable moments around Fashion Week

Fashion week coronavirus newsA fashion show without an audience at Armani, Chanel, and Prada that are postponing shows and Bella Hadid with a face mask, in other words, everything about the Corona virus during Fashion Week, but certainly also Raf Simons who is dubbed the new creative director and Virginie Viard's first Chanel Métiers d’Art show that suddenly comes to London are so far the most remarkable moments surrounding Fashion Week. Are you reading along?

Armani shows without an audience due to the Corona virus
Yes, really. Armani showcased the latest collection in an empty hall during Milan Fashion Week due to fears of the Corona virus. Not even front row could the fashion crowd be spotted, but only at home for a livestream were the models to be admired on the catwalk.

Chanel and Prada postpone
Chanel and Prada are also in fear of the Corona virus. Although not in Milan or Paris, they have decided to postpone their shows in Asia. This concerns the Métiers d’Art presentation in Beijing and the resort 2021 show in Japan.

And indeed, the models are also affected by the Corona virus and walk, just like Bella Hadid, with masks over their pretty heads out of Milan towards Paris.

Raf Simons becomes creative director at Prada
And as if we weren't getting enough fashion news thrown at us during Fashion Week, it was Raf Simons who also came by with the insane news of becoming creative director of Prada. The Belgian designer (he previously worked as head designer for Jil Sander, Christian Dior, and Calvin Klein) will take on an equal role within the company alongside the 71-year-old Miuccia Prada, the current head designer of the fashion house. Sooo fun. A bit proud of our Belgian neighbor.

Virginie Viard's first Chanel Métiers d’Art show comes to London
Of course, it will still be in Paris, but the French fashion house will give a replica show for the first time in the British capital. The show we saw in December at the Grand Palais Paris will be held in July. And yes, that includes the insane decor designed by Sofia Coppola. Seriously, how happy would London be with Virg right now?
