The tip for when you are decorating the nursery

To start with the most important thing: I wish everyone a very healthy, happy, and successful 2020. Usually, I do look forward to New Year's Eve a bit, such an evening where it has to be fun and always the hassle of where and with whom you are going to celebrate... Ideally, we would escape to abroad (throwback to a year ago in lovely LA, sigh...) but this year we were really stuck at home. In hindsight, it was no punishment at all, because we were surrounded by a group of wonderful friends with whom you can truly be yourself. There was laughter, tears, games played, and ridiculously delicious cooking at a star level: for me, this was the perfect New Year's Eve. I feel a new tradition coming up, so I will never dread this evening again.

Our Christmas tree is already gone, but at the RAI, you can still fully enjoy the Christmas atmosphere: the Amsterdam Winter Paradise is still in full swing until this weekend. It was way bigger than I expected: a huge ice rink, delicious food stalls, countless Christmas attractions, and fairground stalls that I am absolutely crazy about. Otis didn't know what hit him: with an armful of ‘prizes’, he walked through the hall with a smile from ear to ear. Absolutely a recommendation for this weekend to end the holiday with a fun outing.

A print that never gets boring and actually never disappears from the fashion scene is undoubtedly a good leopard print. Every time I see a cool item in this print, my heart races: secretly, we women all have a Nel Veerkamp living inside us. And upon seeing these Milo leopard boots, I had to click ‘buy’ immediately (thanks Instagram for inventing product tagging in photos, there goes all my money...). They feel like slippers, and despite my daily outfit that now consists of a black maternity legging and a big sweater, I will still step out the door fashionably in these boots.

Today, Otis’ new room is finally going to be furnished. It's a bit of a squeeze with the space, but my husband has to give up his office and is moving to the small children's room. Since the baby will be staying in our room for the first few months, Otis has the new space all to himself. Months ago, I already picked out his new bed from Oliver Furniture at lidor.nl, including a beautiful drape from Numero 74 that I would love to sleep under myself. I am so curious about his reaction tonight. Keep an eye on Instagram for the final result.
