This will be the biggest Netflix hit ever

So, that's quite a statement as a title, isn't it? Yes, I thought: I'll just copy it right away. Because I really believe this. Whether it actually becomes the best Netflix movie of all time remains to be seen, but believe me: everyone will be talking about this film. Everyone will want to see it. And how do you make that happen?

Well, quite simple actually: with a gigantic star cast. And if you think of an actor who is basically a guarantee for a massive hit, then I think of Leonardo DiCaprio. And that is exactly the personthat Netflix has signed. YAAAA: Leo goes Netflix. There really is no escaping it now, is there? It wouldn't surprise me if cinemas in the Netherlands eventually start showing Netflix films too. If even all the A-listers in Hollywood are heading towards the streaming service...

Because it doesn't stop with Leo, although that would already be enough reason to watch. His co-star is none other than Jennifer Lawrence. She already has a great career, but holy shitballs, I'm especially jealous of her co-stars: multiple times Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, and now Leo DiCaprio. The cherry on top.

Buuut that's still not the end of this star cast. No joke, these are the actors who will also be seen: Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, and Matthew Perry. I can't imagine this means that Netflix's budget for the coming years is gone in one fell swoop. But it's definitely worth it.

Okay, then we naturally want to know what kind of movie it will be. Don't Look Up is about two astronomers (DiCaprio and Lawrence) who discover that the Earth will be hit by a meteor in six months that could potentially destroy the entire planet. Grim. They want to bring this to the outside world, but no one wants to listen. Pff, I already get half an anxiety attack just thinking about it.

Don't Look Up will be directed by Adam McKay, who was also responsible for The Big Short. Besides being a huge fan of Leonardo, I'm really curious about this film. I don't think such an apocalyptic film fits his style at all. But who cares, everything with Leo is going to be awesome anyway.
