Twitter is in turmoil over Adele's ‘new’ weight

2020 has just begun, so there is still very little to see of my New Year's resolutions. Nothing, actually. And I specifically mean the ‘more exercising’, because that was my main resolution this year. Score so far: gym visited once. Probably lost 200 grams through exercise. Adele is really doing a bit better, but even she can still expect criticism. What's going on now? Well, the singer is said to have lost too much weight. Category: it's-never-good-enough.

On Twitter, the following tweet went around, where Adele poses with a number of fans in the Caribbean islands. Commotion all around, and Twitter user Andrea wonders ‘wait Adele looks way too skinny here should we get worried?’ Well, kind Twitter user, I don't think you need to worry. Adele always looks good. Now coincidentally lost more than twenty kilos, hats off to her, because that is quite a commitment she has. But we always love Adele, in all her forms.

Just a refresher; when Adele was still carrying those twenty kilos, it wasn't good either. In 2012, Karl Lagerfeld publicly said she was too fat and thousands of articles were dedicated to her (‘the perks of being a fat woman’ was one of the titles — doesn't anyone check those titles afterwards?). Fortunately, it seems that Adele doesn't care about either side and just does what she wants. And rightly so.

What should we be worried about instead of Adele's weight? When she is finally going to release new music, for example. We need a new go-to for break-ups (Someone Like You has already been played to death by many), we need chaos again when tickets are sold at the Ziggo Dome (which are then offered for thousands of euros on Marktplaats) and, last but not least... She is currently in the Caribbean islands with none other than Harry Styles. HELLO, duet please?

And what we don't need in 2020? Shaming.
