My florist is still doing good business, she assured me last week. That's why I'm taking a trip this week, because the growers are having a hard time. I saw footage of bunches of flowers being cleared away by a forklift and it just hurts a little bit in my flower heart. You should know that I once peeled bulbs, cut tulips, and then worked part-time in a flower shop. I'm a disaster with plants, but give me flowers and I can put together the most delicious arrangements. Kiki already tipped you this week about Save your Bouquet, which delivers flowers to lonely elderly people, I'm tipping you about Pluukz, because that helps the grower. How does it work? You buy tulips at cost price, which helps the growers, and with those flowers, you make someone incredibly happy, because it starts with 150 (!) tulips for 33 euros. Now, coincidentally, I made a flower round last week and placed bunches of tulips on my family's doorstep, so they are taken care of. This week, I'm first filling my own house (it makes for a happier home) and next week my mother's. The week after that, I'll do my grandparents' house. Help the growers a little. Small disclaimer: make sure you have enough vases.
